Hearts have been boosted by the news that Darren Barr could return from a head injury for Saturday's visit of Inverness.
Barr was stretchered off following a nasty clash of heads with team-mate Danny Wilson during the 3-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at the weekend.
The centre-half received treatment on the pitch for over five minutes before he was carried away and given oxygen in the dressing room as well as having staples put into the cut on his head.
However, manager John McGlynn has revealed the injury is not as bad as first feared and is hoping Barr is given the green light to return.
"The situation is much better than we anticipated," McGlynn told the club's website.
"The doctor is very positive about Darren, so much so that he could be in contention for the Inverness game on Saturday.
"Darren will continue to be assessed daily, but absolutely no risks will be taken with him."
