Ahn Jung-hwan's agent has warned Hearts they need to decide if they are going to sign him or risk losing out on the player.
Hearts have expressed an interest in signing the South Korean international with Valdas Ivanauskas a big admirer of the forward.
A number of clubs are monitoring Ahn's situation closely and the player's representative Tom Sanders admits Hearts could lose out to a rival suitor if they fail to step up their interest.
"I have spoken with Valdas and he said he will tell Romanov that he wants Ahn," Sanders told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"I told him I need an answer. I said: 'Don't wait too long or it will be too late'.
"They have to give an answer in the next couple of days because the clubs in the Premiership who want Ahn have given us a deadline of this weekend.
"I have to know what Hearts want, if I don't get an answer soon, it will be too difficult because Ahn will pursue the other offers.
"The Champions League is interesting to Ahn but he wants to hear something - either 'yes' or 'no'.
"Valdas assures me he has a strong interest in the player but it seems the communication there is not so good."
