Hearts claim they have agreed a deal to keep Rudi Skacel at Tynecastle permanently.
The player's agent had raised doubts about Skacel's future by suggesting no deal was agreed between Hearts and Skacel, but the Edinburgh club have moved to clear up the matter.
Skacel initially joined Hearts on a season-long loan from Marseille last summer and he has proved to be a major success at the club.
The 26-year-old has played an instrumental role in his side's push to win a place in next season's UEFA Champions League by scoring 16 goals this term.
His form at Hearts had attracted the interest of a host of other clubs, but Hearts have moved to tie him down to a two-year deal.
A Hearts spokesman said: "The clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee.
"Hearts and Marseille agreed terms before Rudi joined, which has resulted in the club exercising their right to retain the midfielder for a further two years in addition to this season."
