McAllister in Hearts warning

Unhappy Hearts defender Jamie McAllister has warned he could leave the club.

Unhappy Hearts defender Jamie McAllister has warned he could leave the club.

McAllister is frustrated with his lack of first team action in recent weeks after dropping down the pecking order at Tynecastle.

The 27-year-old has held talks with manager Graham Rix over his position and he insists he may have to move on if his situation does not improve.

"I've got over two years left having just signed my new deal, but if things stay the way they are then I'll have to look at the situation," said McAllister.

"I need to do what's best for myself and my family.

"I want to play every week so I'll need to wait and see what happens from now until the summer and take it from there.

"I spoke with the gaffer about it and he just told me to keep doing what I'm doing. That's all I can do.

"Playing in the reserves is no good at my age. I need to be playing first-team football, so all I can do is wait until the end of the season and re-evaluate things."
