Vincent gets Brown's backing

Cheltenham goalkeeper Scott Brown is backing Ashley Vincent to make an impact during the second half of the season.

The winger staked his claim for a first-team place with two goals for the club in their friendly win over Newport on Tuesday afternoon. That display came on the back of his first appearance since September as a late substitute against Burton on Saturday and Brown says he has plenty to offer. "Ashley has been no trouble whatsoever and he's got his head down and worked hard," Brown told the Western Daily Press. "Things have not worked out for him so far this season, but that happens sometimes in football and there are definitely no problems between him and the gaffer (Mark Yates). "Hopefully he can stay and show the sort of form he did for Port Vale last season because we know what a good player he can be."
