Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is hoping to keep goalkeeper Nicky Weaver and on-loan defender Michael Hector for the rest of the season.

Former Manchester City keeper Weaver joined the Dons on a six-month deal in the summer, but has made two just two appearances this season.

However, McInnes wants the 34-year-old to continue to provide cover for first choice Jamie Langfield and expects a decision before Christmas.

"There is still a willingness to keep Nicky here," said McInnes. "Hopefully in the next week or so we will know either way."

McInnes is also waiting for a decision on the future of Hector, who has made 17 appearances since arriving on loan from Reading in the summer.

He added in the Evening Express: "We still have a desire to keep Michael but it will depend on the conversation he has with Reading.

"Hopefully we will find out in the next week or two."
