Hearts coach Paulo Sergio is refusing to set himself any long-term targets this term after their steady start under his reign.
The Jambos were thumped 5-0 by Tottenham in a Europa League qualifier in one of his first games in charge but his ideas now seem to be transmitting through to the players.
In their last four games following that defeat they have conceded just one goal and are now fifth in the Scottish Premier League.
Opposition
St Mirren will provide the opposition this weekend and the Portuguese coach wants to maintain their steady progress.
"I just take it one game at a time," he told the club's
official website.
"Each time we play, that is the only game in my head. We know that if we want to finish up near the top of the league we should be aiming to achieve four points from every two games at least."
Injuries
Hearts duo Marian Kello and Andy Driver are still struggling with injuries but Sergio insists he will only select them once the specialist decides they are fit.
He added: "It is the same picture as last week. We are waiting to hear from the specialist.
"Kello has been running but he can't do any goalkeeping. Andy has been working very well but some of the pain in his knee has returned so we're waiting to see what the specialist has to say."
