Caley Thistle boss hoping to retain Odhiambo and Rooney

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher has confirmed his intention to keep the club's top players. Eric Odhiambo and Adam Rooney are reported to be attracting attention following an impressive season to date. Odhiambo is believed to be interesting several Championship clubs, speculation that Butcher is unaware of. Butcher insists the club have not heard anything regarding the striker, who is out of contract next summer. Caley Thistle's manager believes his players are happy at the club and they are looking to offer new contracts as soon as possible.

"It was news to me when I was told about the Eric Odhiambo story," Butcher told the Daily Record. "We've not had any contact from anybody regards Eric. We know players are being watched. "That's no surprise as some of them are in the goalscoring charts and making headlines. But the players are happy here. "We have to create a degree of security for ourselves before we can offer certain people contracts. "Our aim is to get to that position as quickly as we can."
