41-year-old on stand-by, if Rensing does not recover
Ottmar Hitzfeld is confident goalkeeper Michael Rensing will be fit for Bayern Munich's Uefa Cup tie with Aberdeen.
The German giants are facing up to an injury crisis for Thursday's last 32, first-leg fixture at Pittodrie, with several first-team regulars missing.
Oliver Kahn has already returned to Munich with flu, while concerns over Rensing's fitness have prompted fears that 41-year-old Bernd Dreher will have to start in goal.
But Bayern coach Hitzfeld is optimistic that Rensing will overcome a back injury the promising keeper picked up while tying his shoelaces.
Confident
"A couple of days ago Michael hurt his back while tying his shoes," Hitzfeld told reporters.
"I'm confident he'll be able to play, though. In an emergency we'll find someone to tie his laces for him."
Dreher has spent over a decade with Bayern, but would be making his European debut for the club, if Rensing is not passed fit.
In addition to Kahn's illness, Bayern are also without Franck Ribery, Daniel van Buyten, Willy Sagnol and Mark van Bommel.
