Dargo's intelligent ball in behind the full back released Roy McBain and his pinpoint left-footed cross was converted with a diving header by a jubilant Bayne.
However, the goal galvanised Aberdeen and they almost drew level when Christopher Maguire's acrobatic volley came back off the bar with Lovell heading the rebound wastefully over.
They were not to be denied, though, and Lovell atoned for his profligacy as he was on hand at the back post to ensure Lee Miller's flicked near-post header ended up in the net after a good run and cross from Michael Hart.
The draw ensures both sides stay level in the table, joining Rangers and Kilmarnock on 19 points.
