Brann offer deal to Don

SK Brann have offered Aberdeen's Kevin McNaughton the chance to play in Norway.

Norwegian outfit SK Brann have offered Aberdeen defender Kevin McNaughton the chance to play in Norway.

McNaughton is out of contract in the summer and has decided to quit The Dons for pastures new after rejecting the club's second contract offer last week.

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood has confirmed he will continue to utilise McNaughton in his side, despite the stopper's impending exit in the summer.

"I hope Kevin isn't the first of many to leave because we cannot compete with the wages being paid in the English second and third divisions and many more abroad," Calderwood told the Daily Record.

"I know he has a very good offer from Bergen but my impression is that he is going to a Championship club. I told him that I hope he isn't joining a club that is fighting relegation.

"He will stay in my plans for the rest of the campaign. I've asked him to do his bit to ensure he leaves on the high by helping us finish fourth."
