Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood remains hopeful that Kevin McNaughton will sign a new deal at Pittodrie.
The Scotland international is out of contract in the summer and it is expected that he could have suitors from England in the close-season.
NcNaughton has proven an accomplished defender over the past couple of seasons and Calderwood, whilst conceding he will not be able to match the wages on offer from south of the border, nevertheless remains optimistic of convincing the player to stay.
''Kevin has had offers from England, I know that for a fact,'' Calderwood told the Daily Record.
''But the issue is what he wants to do and I don't think he knows yet.
''The offers he has we cannot get near to but he still has not said he is leaving and that is a big plus for me.
''A lot of players would take the money but I think there is a loyalty factor involved for Kevin.''
