Aberdeen defender Michael Hart has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Hart has handed The Dons a boost after key midfielder Scott Severin decided to reject a new deal at Pittodrie.
Former Livingston stopper Hart has only made four appearances this season due to injury and is delighted to have been handed fresh terms.
"The manager was keen to offer me a new deal which helped me through a pretty depressing time," said Hart.
"I made no secret of the fact I wanted to continue my career here."
Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood had no qualms in rewarding Hart, particularly as he feels the defender's absence has been sorely felt.
Calderwood commented: "I'm delighted Michael has decided to stay as he is a top-class defender.
"His absence has certainly been one of the factors why this season has been disappointing so far."
