Dunfermline boss Davie Hay has been busy in the transfer market, as The Pars have taken two players on trial and look set to release another.

Spanish midfielder Rafa Navarro has arrived at East End Park for a one-week trial, and may be the player to shore up the Pars left flank.

Hay has been casting his eye over the 33-year-old and is also keen to sign Slovakian international Miroslav Barcik (pictured) who has just departed following a similar trial spell.

The 26-year-old currently stars for MSK Zilina in the Slovakian league, and Hay could be looking to tie up a deal before the end of January.

"{Navarro's] been at Villarreal and Cordoba and is left-sided, and that is an area we are looking to strengthen," Hay told the Daily Record.

"He did okay in training but we'll reserve judgement until we have a further look.

"Barcik has gone back and we'll see if we can pursue that one.

"There's talking to be done about whether we can do it now or during the summer, but we'll see what happens."

Meanwhile Dunfermline look set to lose stopper Richie Byrne to fellow SPL side Aberdeen.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international may go to Pittodrie for a fee in the region of £50,000, and Hay has admitted a conclusion is close.

"We're not too far away on the Byrne deal and it looks like that will happen."

Aberdeen have also finalised a deal selling midfielder Steve Tosh to Third Division side Gretna.

The 31-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half year deal that includes the option to take up coaching opportunities.
