Rangers manager Stuart McCall says he is fully focused on Sunday's play-off against Queen of the South and insists he is unaffected by reports linking Karl Robinson with the top job at Ibrox.

McCall has been in charge at the Scottish Championship side since replacing former boss Ally McCoist on a short-term contract at the beginning of March.

The former Bradford and Motherwell manager has taken the Glasgow club to within two play-off games of Scotland's top fllght but admits promotion to the Premiership would be no guarantee he would keep the job.

Milton Keynes manager Robinson is the latest to be linked with the post after Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes and Dougie Freedman of Nottingham Forest were also spoken of as potential candidates.

But McCall, whose side take a 2-1 lead into Sunday's second leg at Ibrox, said: "I am more than happy at what is going on behind the scenes here.

"I am kept fully up to speed so it wouldn't affect me in the slightest who is rumoured to be linked to the job or who has knocked it back. My full focus is on getting promotion and I am not bothered by the talk.

"When I first came into the job I knew what was asked of me, and being asked of me. It gave me an opportunity but I was always aware that the club would be speaking to other people and rightly so.

"Bear in mind our board at the moment are new to this as well so I would imagine they will be taking a lot of advice.

"Dick Advocaat (Sunderland and former Rangers boss) was up the other day and he came to see me in my office. I don't know if he was measuring out the carpets and curtains but it was nice to see him and we had a good chat."

Asked if he intends applying for the job should Rangers decide to advertise it at the end of the season, the former Scotland assistant coach said: "Yes, I would imagine I will have to have a formal interview.

"I don't think there is any doubt about that and I am fully comfortable with it."
