Talks to continue with McCoist ahead of staffing announcement

Rangers joint administrator David Whitehouse has revealed he does expect there to be redundancies at the club, with an announcement due early next week. Discussions have been ongoing this week between administrators Duff and Phelps and manager Ally McCoist - as well as PFA Scotland - regarding cuts to the playing staff. A statement was released on Friday to say that a decision on the future of the players had been delayed following the international break. But it also emerged that Rangers were trading at a 'substantial loss' and would have to save £1million a month for the rest of the season. Whitehouse, speaking ahead of Saturday's SPL game against Hearts, said: "There are likely to be some job losses. "We will still have ongoing discussions over the next 48 hours and we are going to carry on those discussions after the match today. "We will be talking to Ally again tomorrow and we are very hopeful we can reach a consensual agreement which we can get delivered probably on Monday."
