Newcastle attacker set for spell with Bluebirds

Cardiff City have reached an agreement to sign Haris Vuckic on loan from Premier League side Newcastle United for the next month. The 19-year-old moved to the Magpies in 2009 from Slovenian outfit NK Domzale and has made just six first-team appearances so far. The Slovenian made his debut against Fulham in the Premier League earlier this season having scored for the Magpies in a pre-season friendly against Carlisle in 2010. Vuckic has developed a versatile game with the ability to play in midfield as well as occupy the No.10 striker role. The Slovenia U21 international will start his spell at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday and will be available to feature for the Bluebirds up to and including their Championship clash with Bristol City on March 10. Having featured as a substitute for Newcastle in their Carling Cup tie with Scunthorpe United earlier in the season, Vuckic will be unable to take part in the final against Liverpool. Vuckic is contracted to Newcastle until 2016 after signing a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Magpies in January 2011.
