Sheffield United are still hopeful of completing season-long loans for Rangers duo Kyle Hutton and John Fleck.
The Blades made deadline day moves for the midfield pair but had problems completing the paperwork in time.
Some of the details were still being finalised when the 11pm deadline passed but boss Danny Wilson remains optimistic.
"They have not gone through yet but we are hopeful," he said.
Meanwhile, striker Jordan Slew looks set to join Blackburn in a £1million deal but the Premier League club are yet to confirm the move.
Wilson added: "It took me by surprise but the reason he has gone is financial."
