American ace feeling at home in Scotland

Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu believes he is now starting to produce his best for the club after overcoming injuries and becoming first choice. The USA international has seen more playing time this year following a spate of summer exits and the 24-year-old now feels more settled in Scotland. The California-born ace joined from Toronto FC in 2008 and hopes to continue learning and developing as the season continues having featured in all nine of their SPL matches this term.

Run of games

"When you get a run of games, you start to feel more confident, more composed and settled," he told the Daily Record. "Hopefully, I will continue to grow as a player. "Coming to Rangers, I was looking forward to playing Champions League but I missed out on it through injury for the past two years. "This year I have been able to play my part and that was one of my goals. I wanted to make a big impact this season for Rangers and I have managed it so far." Although Rangers command a 100 per cent record in league action this season they have surprisingly fallen behind in a lot of the matches.
Character
The character to come from behind frequently and grind out results demonstrates the mental strength of the players, although Edu knows it would be easier on all concerned if they tightened up defensively. "It's been kind of funny for us this season because we have gone a goal down in quite a few games for some reason," he continued. "But that has kind of sparked us on to come back and score goals. "It's obviously not a trend we like or want to continue but that is just how it has been going for us this season. "Against Celtic it was no different, we went down a goal and came out in the second half and scored three goals within about 20 minutes. "It was a good second-half performance and hopefully we can now start off games the way we finish them."
