Kyle Lafferty hopes his two-goal salvo against Hamilton on Sunday has fired him into Rangers' starting line-up ahead of the CIS Insurance Cup final.

The Northern Ireland star was on hand to grab a brace in the 5-1 win over Hamilton at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup.

Attentions are now turning to the League Cup final clash against arch-rivals Celtic, and Lafferty is hoping he will now be in line to start at Hampden.

"Strikers are judged on goals so, hopefully, after scoring these two goals, I've done enough to play in the final," he said.

"I just want to wear the blue jersey and I'll play anywhere I'm told to play. Thankfully, this time, it was up front and I was delighted to get the two goals."
