Marseille have confirmed that they have struck a deal to sign Rangers star Julien Rodriguez.
The defender is poised to return to France on a two-and-a-half year deal providing he successfully completes a medical at Stade Velodrome.
The news means that the 28-year-old will not have the chance to become part of Walter Smith's setup after the manager moved to Ibrox following his decision to relinquish his role as Scottish national boss.
Rodriguez has made 12 appearances in the SPL so far this season but the Glasgow side have now allowed him to return to his homeland for the first time since leaving Monaco for The Gers in 2005.
L'OM will sign the defender on a free transfer providing he passes the necessary medical tests.
