Jose Karl Pierre-Fanfan seems keen to remain with Rangers following the arrival of Paul Le Guen as the club's new manager.
The stopper had been linked with a summer exit from Ibrox after struggling to hold down a regular place under Alex McLeish last term.
A clutch of French sides, headed by Rennes, are keen on bringing Pierre-Fanfan back to Ligue 1 and had been awaiting developments in Glasgow.
They could find themselves out of luck as Pierre-Fanfan is ready to fight for his place at Ranges.
"It will be different football under Le Guen," sad the 30-year-old. "He doesn't want direct football, but a patient, measured game.
"It will be better for me, as that is the football that I know."
Le Guen is assessing a number of options in the market and Real Sociedad's Jeremie Brechet is believed to have crossed his radar.
The Basque club are reportedly ready to send the defender out on loan and his versatility has caught the eye of Le Guen.
