Paul Le Guen could make Lille's Gregory Tafforeau his first Rangers signing according to reports in France.

The talented 29-year-old is well known by former Lyon chief Le Guen and is thus far stalling on a contract extension put forward by Lille.

Monaco were thought to have had contact in January but it has been suggested that Rangers could now step-in in the summer, although Werder Bremen are monitoring the left-footer's situation with interest.

Le Guen, who takes over at Ibrox at the close of the current campaign, is also being linked with Steve Mandanda, who currently plies his trade at Le Havre.

Mandanda impressed for France at last summer's Under-21 international tournament in Toulon and again, Le Guen is believed to be interested.
