Incoming Rangers boss Paul Le Guen could do battle with former club Lyon for Nantes midfielder Jeremy Toulalan.
The defensive midfield man is wanted by French champions Lyon and Paris Saint Germain, but Scottish side Rangers are also interested.
Toulalan has reportedly been to Rangers to have a look around the club as they look to get their noses in front of Lyon in the race for his signature.
Les Canaris have seemingly accepted that Toulalan will be leaving the club in the summer despite being under contract until 2009.
Le Guen will try and use his French connection to lure Toulalan to Ibrox when he starts his tenure as Rangers boss in the summer.
However, the player himself is thought to prefer a move to the French champions, and much could depend on whether Rangers can lift themselves up into the second UEFA Champions League spot above Hearts.
The Gers are currently three points behind The Jambos having played a game more, but the Glasgow giants will be hoping to overturn that deficit in the remainder of the campaign.
