The on-loan Manchester City striker hit two goals in three Scottish Premiership games last month and also scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 League Cup victory over Partick Thistle.

Guidetti has made an instant impact at Celtic Park since his arrival on the last day of August.

The 22-year-old, who can only play in domestic matches for Celtic before the turn of the year, is averaging a goal a game, having netted nine times since joining the club.

Celtic boss Ronny Deila confirmed last week that Celtic would be interested in signing the Swede on a permanent deal when his contract with City expires at the end of the season.

Gudetti revealed the Hoops manager is a hard taskmaster, and constantly trying to get more from the players.

But following a frustrating spell plagued by injuies in the last 24 months, Guidetti is enjoying his football and looking to improve further.

"I just try to do my best and it’s going well," Guidetti said. "I’m playing with great players in front of amazing fans who help me, and the manager believes in me, and has given me this opportunity.

I hope the fans have still to see the best of me. There are big games coming up which are important and I want to do well in them.

"It didn’t go too well for me for two years because I was injured - it wasn’t because I was playing badly. It made me stronger as a person & probably made me a better footballer. It makes me so much more grateful for the position I'm in now.

"I’m playing with one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s just an absolute pleasure and it’s an honour to put on the Celtic jersey. I just want to cherish the moment I’m in and just enjoy every day and have a smile on my face, go in and play for Celtic.

"The manager is on my case big-time and I like that. I asked him to do this because he wants the best out of all the players.

"He brought me into his office the day after I scored a hat-trick and said, ‘John, you did well but you can do better. He wants you to do everything right and I love that mentality as this is what is going to make me develop.

"I hope the fans have still to see the best of me. There are big games coming up which are important and I want to do well in them."
