New Celtic signing Virgil Van Dijk is setting his sights high for himself and his new club.
The highly-rated Dutch centre-half inked in a four year contract at Parkhead this week to complete his move from FC Groningen in his homeland.
The Holland Under 21 international is full of admiration for three acclaimed centre-halves plying their trade at the height of European football in Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, Chelsea's David Luiz and Thiago Silva of Paris St Germain.
The 21-year-old will meet up with his new team-mates when Celtic begin pre-season training this week, but he is adamant that the Scottish champions must maintain the highest standards as they push to retain their title and match their progress in the UEFA Champions League.
"Ronaldinho was my idol as a kid but I have modelled myself on Kompany, Luiz and Thiago Silva," says Van Dijk.
"They are the players I look up to - you have to aim high.
"Celtic are a big club and they can help me improve. I am excited by the prospect of playing here and excited about the chance of winning medals."
