Vitoria Guimaraes boss Rui Vitoria says that striker Amido Balde will be a huge success in Scotland with Celtic.

And even though Vitoria may be about to lose one of his star players, he thinks Balde will score plenty of goals in the Scottish Premier League.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Vitoria said: "I think Amido is going to be a good player for the football in Scotland.

"He is very strong and excellent at heading. Amido is combative with the centre-backs and makes it hard for them. Trying to mark him is a very difficult job for any defender.

"Scoring goals is what he does but he's also young at this stage of his career and I would say he has a good future in Scotland."

The Portuguese striker, who was born in Guinea-Bissau, jetted into Glasgow on Monday to have a medical and put the final touches on his £2million transfer and Vitoria says that he is a completely different character off the pitch.

Vitoria added: "Amido is a quiet character. He's a good young guy with a child and always comes in to do his work.

"I never had any problems with him."

Balde is thought to favour the move so that he can impress Paulo Bento, the current Portugal manager, ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next year.
