Israel international is fully fit and ready for pre-season

Beram Kayal insists he is ready to make up for lost time after shaking off the ankle injury that dogged him last season. The 24-year-old went under the knife after suffering an injury in an Old Firm clash last Christmas which Celtic won thanks to a goal from Joe Ledley. The Israeli ace did not feature again until coming on as a second-half substitute on the final day of the season when the Hoops thumped Hearts 5-0. But Kayal is determined to look to the future and put his injury worries behind him.

100 per cent

"I don't want to look back," he told the club's official website. "I am happy to be back and I will work hard. "I am training well and I feel my fitness is getting better now. I want to come back this season and play 100 per cent. I want to help the team." Celtic's pre-season is dominated by a tie at home to Inter Milan to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary before taking on Real Madrid in Philadelphia. With the hard work done over the summer to regain his fitness Kayal admits he is chomping at the bit to pull on a Celtic shirt again and is eyeing one of their mouth-watering friendlies for a full 90 minutes. He said: "We have some good games coming up, then the Champions League games, and then the league. "I want to go back to Celtic Park, I miss playing there and after winning the league last season for the first time in four years we have to make sure we keep working hard for the club and for the fans. "I love the fans and I have a very good relationship with them so I always want to do my best for them. Every match I play I want to do well for them, the team and myself."
