Defender eyeing first-team return after injury lay-off

Wolves defender Steven Mouyokolo is determined to "show the fans what I can do" as he looks to put his injury woes behind him. The 25-year-old moved to Molineux in the summer of 2010 but suffered an injury hit campaign, making just seven appearances all year. The following summer then Wolves boss Mick McCarthy sanctioned a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 outfit Sochaux in order for Mouyokolo to gain more first-team action. However, he would make just four appearances for the French side before suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in February, ruling him out until September. Now back in England the former Hull City stopper is pleased with his rehabilitation and feels as though he has gained a new lease of life. The one-time Boulogne defender is confident he can finally prove his worth to Wanderers. "I know I picked up this injury last season but going back to France before that I felt good again," Mouyokolo told the club's official website.

Levels

"When I was training and played I felt I'd found my levels back and was playing as I can again. "It made me realise that I could still do it and that everything was still there sleeping inside me and I just needed the opportunity to show it. "I know what I am capable of and the fans haven't seen it here yet - nobody here has seen it. "I've moved back closer to the training ground and have seen a lot of fans who have been really cool with me. "They haven't forgotten me and are wanting me to be back and that is really appreciated - the Wolves fans have been amazing. "I'm back here now and part of it and looking forward to working hard and trying to show people what I can do. I feel very positive."
Surgery
Regarding his recovery, Mouyokolo added: "I've spent some time back in France this summer having treatment because that is where I had the surgery. "I am back here at Wolves to continue my rehabilitation. "It is always difficult to say but I'm probably a couple of months away from being back in training and then available so hopefully end of August or September. "Injuries are part of football and you just have to realise that life goes on and give your best in the recovery. "Everything is fine and I'm feeling good."
