Former Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg has signed for J-League side Shimizu S-Pulse. The 34 year-old has agreed to a one-and-a-half year contract with the Japanese outfit and could be in line for Shimizu's league clash against Jubilo Iwata on 10th September. "I've signed for this season and the one after," the midfielder told Swedish paper Aftonbladet. "I hope to make my debut in two weeks." Ljungberg made his name at Arsenal during his nine-year stay at the club before having spells with West Ham and MLS side Seattle Sounders. He had a brief six-month stint with Scottish giants Celtic towards the end of last season where he only managed seven appearances.
