Gary Caldwell admits he would 'love' the responsibility of captaining Scotland in their World Cup qualifier against Norway.
George Burley's side take on the Scandinavian outfit on 11th October looking to record consecutive qualifying successes after they bounced back from their loss against Macedonia with a win in Iceland last month.
Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson and Caldwell's Celtic counterpart Stephen McManus are unavailable for the fixture at Hampden Park, and Caldwell is hopeful of being handed the honour of skippering his country in their absence.
"That's the manager's decision," said Caldwell.
"He'll pick whoever he sees fit. I'm sure everyone would love that honour, but that's up to the manager.
"It would be great - but, like I said, it's the manager's decision and only one man can do it."
