Skipper confident can Bhoys can reach last 16

Stephen McManus remains confident that Celtic can qualify for the UEFA Champions League knockout phase. A 1-0 win at home to Benfica on Tuesday night has boosted The Bhoys' prospects of reaching the last 16 for the second season in a row. Celtic are now third in Group D behind Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk, who they play in the closing two matches, and skipper McManus is staying upbeat. "It was a big result and it keeps us in the mix which is what we wanted at this stage of the campaign," said McManus.

Always confident

"We are still in there fighting. "We are in with a chance, the same as the other three teams in the competition. "We are always confident, we are a confident bunch of lads. When you play with Celtic, you have to be confident." The Bhoys next face Shakhtar at Parkhead on 28th November before visiting holders Milan a week later.
