Mark McGhee is continuing to pursue his interest in bringing Celtic defender Adam Virgo to Motherwell.
Virgo has been lined up for a loan move to Fir Park, but reports suggest Celtic want Well to pay his £5,000-a-week salary.
Such a sum is beyond Well's budget, but McGhee will not concede defeat in his attempts to sign the full-back.
He will maintain his interest and believes there is still a chance that Virgo will be added to the Motherwell squad.
"We know the wage Adam is on at Celtic is out of our league, but we will continue to pursue it," McGhee told the Daily Record.
"I will meet with Adam as soon as possible to find out his thoughts. It's certainly not unlikely.
"Gordon Strachan has assured me he'll do what he can to try to make it happen."
