Alex McLeish has revealed Craig Beattie could be in line for a Scotland recall.
The Celtic striker has struggled with injuries since making his international debut against Italy in September 2005.
However, he has now returned to full fitness and McLeish has been impressed with his recent performances.
McLeish intends to be meticulous in his planning for the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Georgia and Italy, but he admits Beattie is making a good case.
"He is definitely in my mind," McLeish told Sky Sports News.
"We haven't finalised it yet. Andy Watson, Roy Aitken and I will spend a few days together before the players come together and try to leave no stone unturned in the preparation for the Georgia game and then the Italy game.
"But I think Craig has caught everybody's eye."
Beattie has scored in his last two games for Celtic and McLeish believes he is playing better than ever.
"He has scored a few goals whenever he has come in to play for Celtic over the past few years," McLeish commented.
"And in recent weeks he has taken it up to another level.
"He is looking like a good leader of the forward line and he's working very hard.
"Injuries have been a little concern for him over the last couple of years but certainly he has caught the eye."
