Celtic star Shaun Maloney insists he wants to stay at Parkhead.
The young forward's current contact expires at the end of the season and talks over a new deal have stalled.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has admitted he is worried about the contract negotiations as Maloney could talk to interested clubs in January.
However, Maloney is not concerned over the delay in his contract talks and is adamant everything will be sorted out.
"Hopefully, a deal will be sorted out," Maloney told The Sunday Mail.
"We are still talking but it has been going on for a little while now.
"You want to play in big occasions like Wednesday (the Champions League victory over Benfica at Celtic Park) and, hopefully, there will be a few more.
"My preferred option is to stay - I have said that from day one seven months ago.
"But the deal has to be right and that is the main thing.
"I would have liked a deal to have been done a lot quicker but both parties have to be happy and, until that happens, it will not be signed."
