Celtic have clinched the surprise signing of Hibernian ace Derek Riordan.
The SPL champions have agreed a pre-contract with the Scottish international and he will move to Parkhead next January.
Riordan's future has been the subject of speculation ever since he turned down a new deal at Hibs.
Rangers tried to sign the young forward in January, but the player stayed at Easter Road.
A host of clubs across Europe were keeping tabs on Riordan's situation with his contract due to expire in October and Celtic have won the race for his signature.
"Celtic are delighted to announce that they have signed Derek Riordan from Hibernian on a pre-contract agreement," read a Celtic statement.
"The player will join the champions in January."
Riordan will join Hibs team-mate Gary Caldwell at Celtic after the defender also agreed a pre-contract with The Bhoys earlier this season.
Gordon Strachan has been busy in the transfer market and Riordan is the third signing of the close-season after Caldwell and Kenny Miller.
