Virgo eyes Bhoys boost

Adam Virgo says he is keen to appear in the last two games of Celtic's season.

Celtic defender Adam Virgo says he is keen to appear in the last two games of the campaign after enduring a difficult debut season in The SPL.

The 23-year-old made the move to Celtic Park from Brighton in July, but has started just four games as Gordon Strachan has led The Bhoys to the title.

A calf problem has been restricting his impact of late and a troubled pre-season also left him kicking his heels in the early part of the season.

However with Celtic having wrapped up the Scottish title, and his comeback on track, Virgo is now looking for Strachan to hand him a chance in the coming weeks.

"I have a torn muscle and am in rehab but hopefully I can still make the last couple of games," said Virgo.

After playing arch rivals Rangers in the final Old Firm game of the season on Sunday, The Bhoys face Hearts, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen before the close of the campaign.
