Celtic have confirmed that Hibernian captain Gary Caldwell has signed a pre-contract with them.

The Scottish international is out of contract at Easter Road in the summer and has been considering his options since the turn of the year.

Now the former Newcastle man has agreed terms with Celtic and will join them in the summer.

The deal is the second Bosman transfer Celtic have secured in 24 hours after they announced Kenny Miller's transfer on similar terms.

Celtic also announced that talks with Hungarian winger Peter Halmosi are continuing.

Meanwhile, The Bhoys are also reported to be one of a number of clubs interested in Steffen Iversen.

"Celtic are one of the clubs we are talking to about Steffen," said his agent Rune Hauge.

The 29-year-old former Tottenham man has already trained with Portsmouth this month.
