Fenerbahce have made an offer to bring Barcelona goalkeeper Rustu Recber back to the club permanently.

Rustu is considering his future at Camp Nou after spending last season on loan with his former club Fenerbahce.

He had been keen to fight for his place under Frank Rijkaard but, as he is likely to be third choice, Rustu now wants to leave.

Celtic have been linked with a move for the Turkey international but Fener are making a concerted effort to take Rustu back to his homeland.

Fener have put a two-year contract on the table for Rustu and are waiting for the keeper to resolve his situation with Barcelona.

"Directors Ilhan Eksioglu and Ali Yildirim held a meeting with Rustu Recber and a two-year contract was offered," read a statement on Fener's website.

"The Turkish international has told our board that he would like to make a permanent move from Barcelona to Fenerbahce and end his career here.

"Rustu's agent has travelled to Spain to talk to Barcelona's directors. Rustu, himself, will go to Spain on Sunday and express his wish to move to Fenerbahce."
