Wallace boost for Bhoys

Celtic starlet Ross Wallace has been handed an injury boost.

Celtic starlet Ross Wallace has been handed an injury boost.

The 19-year-old feared he had suffered a serious leg injury during a testimonial against St Mirren earlier this week.

However, scans have allayed Wallace's fears and he should be back in action soon.

"It looks like it's just a dead leg," said Wallace.

"It's still really sore and I did think that it was a lot more serious when I first went down.

"But although I think I'll be in a lot of pain for the next few days, it shouldn't be too long before I'm back training and playing again, which is obviously a massive relief.

"The contact was made just above my knee and it was throbbing like nothing else at the time.

"At that point, I was thinking that it was a real bad one for me because the pain was shooting right up my thigh and I couldn't put any weight on the leg at all.

"But I've had some ice on it and I already feel that it's easing off a bit.

"I'll go in and see the doc about it, but the way it looks just now, I should be out for days rather than weeks."
