Celtic are set to open contract talks with captain Jackie McNamara at the end of the month.
Bhoys boss Martin O'Neill has admitted he is keen to keep the Scottish international at Parkhead.
McNamara is out of contract in the summer, but O'Neill has hinted he is ready to offer him a new two-year deal.
The player's agent Darren Jackson expects talks to take place when the transfer window closes and is confident McNamara will agree to stay at Celtic.
"There have been no discussions as yet, but I think that is because the transfer window is still open and Celtic are probably busy doing a few things," Jackson told skysports.com.
"Jackie has told me Martin O'Neill has informed him he will give me a call and I expect that in the next week or two.
"Jackie has been out of contract three times now and he is not worried.
"I have heard Martin wants to give Jackie a two-year deal and he would be happy to stay there.
"He has been there ten years and he loves the club."
