Celtic increased their lead over Rangers in the SPL by five points as they hammered Aberdeen 4-0 at Celtic Park.

The Hoops eased their midweek European heartache and never looked in any trouble against the Dons.

Henrik Larsson scored a hat-trick on 4, 48 and 55 minutes and Chris Sutton coverted a penalty in the 45th minute to gain the all-important three points.

Rangers dropped another two points in The SPL after they were held to a dreary 0-0 draw by Livingston.

Livi started the brightest, although nothing of any real note happened until the 20-minute mark when the home side should have taken the lead form the penalty spot.

Fernando Ricksen brought down Derek Lilley on the edge of the box, but the normally reliable Lee Makel saw his spot kick saved wonderfully by Stefan Klos low down to his left.

With two minutes remaining the best chance of the game fell to Capucho when he was played through by Craig Moore, but after turning back on to his favoured right foot, pulled the ball wide of McKenzie's post.

Hearts beat bottom of the table Partick Thistle by 4-1 with Andy Kirk scoring two goals on 3 and 30 minutes. Mark de Vries (27) and Steve Simmons (74) completed the scoring.

Ricky Waddell grabbed Thistle's consolation goal on 63.

Hibernian eased past Kilmarnock by 2-0 with goals from Colin Murdoch on 13 with Derek Riordan adding a second three minutes later.
