CELTIC moved back to the top of the SPL and, perhaps more importantly, boosted their goal difference with a 6-2 win over Dundee.

The Bhoys were briefly threatened when Barry Smith cancelled out Henrik Larsson`s opener, but Martin O`Neill`s side ultimately cantered to victory and took their goal difference above title rivals Rangers` in the process.

Larsson fired Celtic in front with a close range effort, but Barry Smith stunned the Parkhead crowd with a fine leveller on 25 minutes.

The equaliser sparked Celtic into life and Alan Thompson fired in two goals, one a shot and the other a header, inside five minutes to kill off Dundee.

Celtic did not ease off and talented youngster Shaun Maloney (pictured) grabbed a brace, the latter a superb curling effort, as the Bhoys boosted their goals tally.

A rare source netted the sixth, with defensive rock Johan Mjallby finding the target, but a late defensive lapse let in Lee Mair for an injury-time consolation that could yet prove vital in the title race.
