CELTIC strolled to the top of the SPL with a convincing 4-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Swedish international Johan Mjallby (pictured) put The Bhoys ahead with five minutes on the clock to seize the initiative and Chris Sutton doubled the advantage after 34 minutes.

The Dons were the only team to beat Celtic in the SPL last term but a repeat never looked on the cards once the Glasgow giants were in front.

Former St Johnstone man Momo Sylla added a third after 53 minutes and veteran Paul Lambert completed the rout in the 66th minute to leave the home fans disappointed.

Rangers kept in touch with their city rivals with an easy 3-0 win over Dundee at Ibrox.

The match was delayed due to crowd congestion but it did not affect the hosts who took a 12th minute lead through Dutchman Ronald de Boer.

Shota Arveladze (67) and Peter Lovenkrands (87) added second half strikes as the Glasgow side cruised to their first win of the season.

Kilmarnock continued their good start to the season under Jim Jefferies with a 2-1 comeback win over Dundee United.

Steven Thompson, recently capped by Berti Vogts, put United in front after 71 minutes but Killie rallied and produced two late goals.

Craig Dargo (78) and Kris Boyd (82) struck inside of four minutes to hand Kilmarnock all three points.

Dunfermline notched their first points of the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Livingston.

Stevie Crawford bagged the opener in the 28th minute and Craig Brewster extended the lead after 50 minutes.

Livi reduced the arrears through Davide Xausa in the final minute but it was too little too late for the visitors.

Motherwell and newly-promoted Partick Thistle shared a 1-1 draw at Fir Park.

Alex Burns put Partick in front on 81 minutes but parity was short-lived as Stephen Pearson equalised two minutes later and grabbed a point for the hosts.
