Hibernian have signed former Hamilton goalkeeper Tomas Cerny on a deal until the end of the season.

The Czech spent almost five years with the Accies before leaving for CSKA Sofia in 2012 and more recently had a spell in the Greek Super League with Ergotelis.

The 29-year-old, who will compete with Mark Oxley for the No 1 role, joins a Hibs side in a play-off position in the Championship and beaten just once in the league since September.

"My wife is Scottish and we were keen to relocate back to Scotland," he told the club website. "So when the opportunity came up to sign for Hibernian, it ticked all the right boxes.

"I know a lot about the club - I’ve played against the team several times before - and I want to play my part in helping Hibernian to earn promotion.

"I’m very happy to be part of such a great club with a great history and a great set-up; I’m excited about the future."
