St Mirren midfielder Kenny McLean has won his appeal against the red card received against Kilmarnock on New Year’s Day.

Referee Willie Collum showed a straight red card to McLean for violent conduct after judging the 23-year-old had tried to headbutt Ross Barbour.

St Mirren lost the match 2-1 with caretaker boss Gary Teale criticising Collum’s performance after the official awarded three penalties during the match.

But after reviewing the incident, the Scottish Football Association has decided to rescind the red card issued by referee Collum.

McLean will now be free to play for the Buddies against Scottish Premiership leaders Aberdeen at St Mirren Park on Saturday.

Earlier this week the Paisley club rejected a £150,000 offer from English League One side Fleetwood Town for McLean.
