Scottish Championship: Hearts' game with Cowdenbeath postponed

Hearts have missed out on the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship to 12 points after their game with Cowdenbeath was called off.

Title rivals Rangers lost 2-0 away to Queen of the South on Friday night to offer the Jambos a boost in their bid to return to the top flight at the first attempt.

But parts of the Central Park pitch remained frozen over on Saturday morning, despite the best efforts of the club to ensure it was playable.

That left the referee with no option but to declare the surface unplayable, with the date for the rearranged match yet to be confirmed.

Hearts’ next scheduled game is now the Scottish Championship clash with Alloa at Tynecastle on December 20.
