Celtic goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has been attacked in the street.

The Polish player was targeted in Ashton Lane in Glasgow's west end in the early hours of Monday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are investigating a report of a 32-year-old man being assaulted in Ashton Lane in Glasgow in the early hours of Monday 20 October.

"Officers are checking CCTV images and inquiries are continuing."

Police would not confirm reports that another Scottish Premiership player was involved in the incident.

Zaluska, who joined from Dundee United in 2009, has been serving as an understudy to first-choice keeper Craig Gordon and has made just two league appearances this season.
