Transfer news: Dundee United hoping to sign Curtis Good from Newcastle on new loan deal

Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara is optimistic about bringing Curtis Good back to the club for a second loan spell.

Good spent the second half of last season on loan at Tannadice from Newcastle United, making five appearances before heading back to his parent club.

He is currently still recovering from a hip problem which forced him to miss Australia’s World Cup campaign, but McNamara has already contacted Newcastle to ask about another loan deal.

“Curtis hasn’t recovered from his injury yet. He has had an operation to fix his problem and will be back doing running, possibly next week or the week after that,” McNamara said in the Daily Record.

“The talks with Curtis have been positive. Newcastle are waiting to see what is happening with their squad and the speed at which we can get anything done will depend on them.

“They need to decide if it is something they want for themselves and Curtis this year.

“If we could get Curtis in, I would be happy with that.”
