Stenhousemuir denied Rangers only their second three points of the season in League One, as Sean Higgins netted twice in a 3-3 draw at Ibrox.
In a topsy-turvey encounter in Glasgow, Stenhousemuir twice led before a 75th minute penalty salvaged a draw for the plucky visitors.
Sean Dickson opened the scoring on 16 after latching onto to Nicholas Devlin's assist, with Andrew Little and David Templeton combining to set up Nicky Law who brought Rangers level nine minutes before the break.
Higgins (58) restored Stenhousemuir's lead with a header from Sean Lynch's cross only for the hosts to draw level for a second time when Ross McMillan put through his own net when he deflected Fraser Aird's shot past his own keeper.
Aird was also influential as Rangers took the lead on 72 when his corner was headed home by Jon Daly, only for Higgins to equalise three minutes later after Emilson Cribari pushed McMillan in the box.
The hosts had dominated most of the possession during the match and also struck the woodwork twice, while coming close to snatching a winner late on.
But Stenhousemuir, who had conceded eight goals in their last visit to Ibrox this season, battled hard to restrict Rangers to a point, although the hosts remain well clear at the top of the table.
